Faisal Tareque Shohan
Welcome!
I’m Faisal Tareque Shohan, an M.Sc. student in Computer Science at the Université de Sherbrooke, supervised by Amine Trabelsi and fortunate to also be advised by Richard Khoury. My research is in Natural Language Processing, with a focus on conversation simulation and emotion recognition in conversation: teaching machines to model how people talk, and how they feel while doing it.

Before graduate school, I worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Anchorblock Technology Limited. Earlier, I was an Adjunct Faculty member at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), where I also earned my B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering.
Along the way, I have been fortunate to work with some wonderful researchers. I have collaborated with Mir Tafseer Nayeem and, earlier, with Shafiq Joty. My first steps in research were guided by Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shafiul Alam, and I remain grateful for their mentorship.
